More rummaging in the attic about XDS Sigma series:
The indexing was unit indexing, i.e. if you were loading
words, the index was shifted by two, if halfwords, then shifted
by one. I don't recall if this was optional (like the HPPA) or
mandatory. Unfortunately, my attic is 8000 miles away at the moment.
