We'd like to establish a temporary remote connection and wonder what sorts of throughputs have been achieved, taking protocol overhead and the like into consideration. We are contemplating a pair of Prometheus Ultima V.32bis and Shiva Dial-In extension. Any particular initialization strings that have proved better than others? Hardware or software flow control? We did some tests with a mere V.32/V.42bis that gave about 1350 CPS on Hypercard stacks (kind of a mix of binary and ascii). Is there hope for improvement?
