Although FAS reports that it initted two 16450s, the actual UART is a PLCC chip from UMC labelled : UM82C452L 9031S 529660 I've been told that this contains two 16450s, and possibly also handles the parallel port. As this isn't just a simple yank-the-450s and stick-in-the-16550As case, what can I do ? Does anyone know exactly what this chip is, and more to the point, is there a replacement for it that will contain the 16550A FIFOs ? Any help would be most appreciated :) Thanks - Dean (reply to uunet!areyes!deano) deano@admiral.UUCP (Dean Carpenter) The Grid/Magpie and /Waffle BBS (HST/V32) 203-661-1279 (PEP/V32) -2873 (V32) -0450 (V29/MNP6) -2967 Multiplayer Games, Multicolor Chat, Multibbses, Multifun!
