On a certain unix board with three lines, two of them have software flow control activated. Whenever I try to use MicroEMACS with one of these, I get a constant bombardment of messages at the bottom. Since I have ^S and ^Q unbound currently, it just keeps saying, "^S not bound" "^Q not bound" etc, and it does this endlessly forcing me to simply hang up. Even if I do bind the keys to something, say I just have it print " " it still endlessly prints spaces at the bottom of the screen. No matter what I do, I cannot avoid this problem which prevents me from using emacs at all on the two lines. I have tried all combinations of XON/XOFF both on the unix side (stty) and on my terminal side (Telix 3.15) Someone please tell me how I can have MicroEMACS simply igonre ^S and ^Q altogether. I'm desparate!!! I feel like I will have to switch to vi soon ARGH!!! Thanx -- Ron Ron Winograd ron@vpnet.chi.il.us
