Japan Lines: 26 Hello Fellow Netters. I have been reading the Adobe "Black Book" (Adobe Type 1 Font Format). It gives a very thorough description of the Type 1 Font with examples on encoding and encryption etc. However it talks about the hinting process very briefly. Five commands used in character level hinting are mentioned with a brief summary of what the command does. As I understand these commands, they specify a horizontal or vertical range in which the rasterizer decides on how to render (fill) the pixels that fall in that range. I would like to know how the rasterizer interpretes these commands and decides on how to render a particular font properly. Would anybody have some references where I would be able to get the above information.
