Keywords: OLIT OI X11 Message-ID: <1991Jun14.183637.7410@cbnewsl.att.com> Date: 14 Jun 91 18:36:37 GMT Followup-To: poster Distribution: na Organization: AT&T Bell Laboratories Lines: 20 Fellow netters: My group is about to embark on a new X Window System display project and have decided to explore the various toolkits available. The project involves both a CAD-like graphics editor and a data analysis display. Both these tools must have an OPEN LOOK look and feel (by order from on high). We are likely to do the actual implementation in C++ and have identified two candidate toolkits for doing the graphics work. One is the SUN widget set OLIT and the other is the Solbourne/USL toolkit OI. My personal preference based on reading man pages is OI, but we have nobody here with personal experience using either library. I need to justify my choice to my boss and am looking for praise or horror stories about either toolkit. Please send email and if there is sufficient interest, I will summarize to the net. Thanks.
