Thankyou to all who sent me suggestions (I got 3 within 6 hours). The Fitted
Software Tools compiler (simtel-20 archive) is available from sol.deakin.oz.au
by anonymous ftp. 
HOWEVER, I cannot figure out the transfer mode to use.
