It gets as far as asking for the file system disk, but when I put it in and hit 'return', nothing happens. No disk access light, no apparent activity, and the machine is hung. I talked to a CMU guy who had a hand in the boot code and he guessed that there might be some funny interaction with the Zenith VGA board. I replaced it with a monochrome board and got the same results. I've only got three Mb of memory, and I know I need at least five, but I think I should be getting farther than this. Any ideas? Is anyone running 2.5 on a Zenith?
