I had a 386sx clone running DOS 3.3. I installed the WD FASST 7000 SCSI card and a 200 MB drive. I used THEIR software to handle LARGE partitions (>32 MB) under DOS 3.3. I upgraded to 5.0. DOS 5.0 cannot recognize the scsi partitions. I HAVE to backup the whole 200 MB scsi disk and the rerun the setup program to install a new partition table. They call it the old DOS versus the DOS+ partition tables. Sigh... I thought I would warn anyone who I could that you might get bit if you use old disk partitioning software on older versions of DOS. A friend of mine had DOS 4.01 with his WD 7000 and a 100 MB scsi and the upgrade worked fine for him since 4.01 and 5.0 have compatible LARGE partition support. Hope I help someone. Meanwhile, I'm off to buy about 50 floppies.... -- Robert Rodriguez rr@mips.com Workstations forever!
