If you have a company and some of your old customers threatened you with starting to buy someone else's products, would you really just sit down and wait until they do? That is what you propose Motorola will do... I think, IF customers threaten Motorola by suggesting their product line 680x0 isn't enough, THEN they will double their efforts to develop 68050, 68060, etc. I think the 680x0 series has every chance in the world not just to survive, but to gain in popularity!
