No, Epson does 360*360 since LQ850/1050 with firmware >1.07. You are right, Necs 360YDPI commands differ from Epson. Even more confusing: OKI also has its own 360YDPI LF command: EpsonLQ: graphic = ESC * m n1 n2 where m = 40 for 360XDPI n/360 linefeed = ESC + n Nec: graphic = FS Z n1 n2 or ESC * like Epson... n/360 linefeed = FS 3 n OKI graphic = ESC * like Epson n/360 linefeed = ESC ($5b) n While most printer support the Epson 360YDPI style, there are some supporting both, Epson and Nec: Star, Panasonic. Sure... Nec only handles the Nec way... HINT: If you have a Nec driver and an Epson style printer: in most cases you can simply patch the driver for Epson by using the table above. Patching doesn't work, if the driver uses FS Z n1 n2, but most driver seem to do ESC *. And if you use ESC-k in your driver (as you should George...!): whatch out! Some printers like Panasonic and Oki stop their printerhead for rejustification, resulting in a speed of 1 page/hour... (this was a problem in the old AmigaTeX driver... ouuhh boy how slow...) > Georg. > hessmann@unipas.fmi.uni-passau.de hessmann@unipas.uucp --- Wolf Faust cbmvax!cbmehq!cbmger!venus!wfaust Tel: +(49)69-5486556 FIDO: 2:243/43.5
