Dissidents say there is a "16-bit playback" menu option on the upcoming MIDI Sample Wrench V2.0 which will also include an expanded SAMP library that will convert to/from Sound Designer format. Vision Quest is looking at controller systems capable of operation of DAT's while playing back digital audio. Thru AREXX, Dr. T's KCS and Blue Ribbon Soundworks' Bars and Pipes can control digital audio playback. Several individual developers have expressed continuing interest in developing for the system.
