Umm, it's not wise to assume that all good ideas are embodied in standards, or that all standards embody good ideas. No more wise than assuming that all laws are good because they are passed by Congress, or all UN activity is "right", or that Nielsen ratings reflect the quality of the show, etc. Trust me, I've been there.
