Problem...

(please send replies through email if possible!)

I was running my computer and after while I smelt smoke....next thing I knew my maxtor lxt 100s stopped running.... what chip on the under side could be the
cause?

the power supply, case, connectors, and controller all check out.... they
are a-okay......................help!!!!!!!!!!
