I have an early STe and am thinking of buying a HD soon, but I don't want to wait until the think screws up before I do anything. How do I tell if I need a new chip, and if so, what do I have to do if I want it replaced? I don't expect to get it for free (although I think I should as it was a design fault), but I just haven't heard anything about this. Could Allan Pratt give me the official Atari line on this one? Pretty please? Anybody else got any news on this? E-mail preferred on either: jas@uk.ac.warwick.cs or csual@uk.ac.warwick.cu Ta very much, Jas.
