Here's what worked: DO NOT put the ROM statement in the QEMM386 command line. DO put in DISKBUF=10 and DMA=64. The problem was that SCSI drives tend not to have enough disk buffering available when regular DOS is loaded and QEMM just highlighted the problem. GOTCHA' --- the DISKBUF statement uses 10K of lower ram. thanks for all the help. I received many messages and thank everyone for their help.
