I have an SE/30 with 2MB of RAM but had VM turned on. I would get a device error near the end of the first floppy. Repeatably. I called Dantz and, after some delay getting through to tech. support, found I wasn't the only one. They suggested running without VM. I did, even through there was slightly less memory available than Retrospect wanted. And the problem went away. Of course, I also had to turn off ALL extensions to free up space for Retrospect to run, so the diagnosis is not unambiguous. Moral: If you have a problem with Retrospect 1.3 under System 7.0, try running it with VM turned off. Regardless of what the compatibility checker and guide say. John
