My question today concerns Appleshare PC and file-sharing with a Mac IIcx running system 7.0. Until know, this mac communicated with an IBM computer via TOPS, which worked quite well. It was a very small distributed server network (just these two computers), and it worked quite well. TOPS also took care of printing from the IBM to an Apple Laserwriter. Once I moved the cx to 7.0, TOPS died a dog's death. Sitka (maker of TOPS) says it will be 3+ months before a new version is ready. So..... will appleshare PC running on the IBM be able to connect to a "shared" folder on the mac? Is there a new version of Appleshare PC coming out? How well does it print? etc... I understand that a 6.0.x mac can connect to a 7.0 mac, is this similar to the Appleshare PC question? Is anyone still reading? I would appreciate any and all responses, and would be willing to summarize if desired. Thanks very much, RAFST3@vms.cis.pitt.edu Read Fritsch ******** The Search for Columbus's Bones Continues.... **********
