You may like to consider using a package called uAccess from ICE Engineering.
I am running it under my Mac Plus with a Prometheus V32 9600 (not
9600M Plus).  It is running great without any major problem.  The
modem talks to telebit T2500.

The uAccess Manual also has parameter settings for the Telebit 2500.
