OK, I know I should be using Hypercard 2.0, but I am developing a
stack for schools, who will probably be slow to get it...

that said, my stack has "lost" background buttons a few times lately.
This is alarming, and should not be a product of any of my scripts.
Any ideas?  I fear hard drive/memory errors, but I'm not sure what order
makes sense to pursue....

2nd question - I've heard of CompileIt, but are there any public domain
script compilers?  I know this is unecessary in 2.0, but I really need
to make a 1.2 script faster, it's unbearably slow at present.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
