I myself am facing this delimma. I also (no doubt like the person posting the original note) have not been reading this newsgroup for years. I also think that discussions like this should be revisited every few months. For instance I have not seen any comparisons or opinions about the Mac vs NeXT question, since the introduction of the Color NeXTStation and System 7. These things change the equations. Now notice my use of the word "discussion." I agree we can all do without soapbox posturing and computer bigotry. (Even innocent jabs and taunts can be taken out of context or in the wrong way.) But open-minded discussion of these issues keeps the whole industry healthy and productive. Now I'll sit back and watch what happens.
