If you have a bunch of stuff selected in the Finder, and you want to go do
something else and come back to that selection, just choose a label you
aren't using from the labels menu.  Then, when you come back to that window,
view by label, and all the items you want will be grouped together.

Of course, this isn't exactly elegant, and it doesn't work unless you have
labels turned in in the Views control panel.
