When I select an extended character set of 512 characters, WordPerfect loads these characters from the file VGA512.FRS (or EGA512.FRS on an EGA card). I want to replace the characters in this file with some others. I have had no problem changing the contents of VGA512.FRS, as its structure is quite straightforward, but of course my new characters do not map correctly into the WordPerfect character sets. How do I change this mapping? Apparently WP uses an optional file, VGA512.CHM, for this purpose. This file is not supplied with the WP diskettes, and I cannot find a description of it in the documentation. Can anyone help me with a description of the layout of this file? Or perhaps give me some other idea about how to change the character mappings (patching WP.EXE perhaps?). -- Claus Tondering | The 21st century starts on Dansk Data Elektronik A/S, Herlev, Denmark | 1 January 2001.
