I was able to use it with no problems with AIX 1.2 with 1008PTF's. But it appears broken now in 1.2.1. It does not even recognize that I have the SCSI adapter in the machine. I even went to the extreme by installing 1.2.1 on just the ESDI drive and then ran devices adding the SCSI support then rebuilding the kernel. I rebooted and ran minidisks, and still the machine does not recognize my SCSI adapter and my SCSI HD. Is there something special that I have to do to make this work? Also, when I did have 1.2.1 running on just the ESDI drive, I accessed the 5-1/4 floppy, which seemed to be only accessible through /dev/fd0, and when I got an error from the 5-1/4 from whatever cause, it reverted back to the 3-1/2 drive and in order to use my 5-1/4 drive again, I had to reboot the system. Is this really the way that this works? Or is there some command that I have to run to switch between the two drives that seem to share the same /dev mknod file? Any help on either of the above 2 problems would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. -- Tim H.
