After digging around a littlebit I was able to at least create all the binaries and run files in the System V- environment. Smail even delivers mail to remote machines, but after having startet it in daemon mode (/usr/lib/sendmail -bd -q1h) it quickly fills the paniclog with zillions of error messages obviousvly originating from the module: ./src/modes.c: around line 798 /* get connection */ as = accept(ls, (struct sockaddr *)&from, &len); if (as < 0 && errno != EINTR) { write_log(LOG_PANIC, "accept failed: %s", strerrno()); continue; The error message and code is: [EBADF] Bad file number Any help appreciated.
