Well the concensus was that esdi "in st506 emulation mode" would work fine under most unixs. The WD1007, came highly recomended. Are any of ya'll using this configuration with at&t sysvr4? If not, SHOULD it work? My latest question is this, I have the need to add more serial ports. Which smart serial port cards do you folks use under unix? I would prefer one that can live with my old stupid at 2serial port card that will not relinquish the standard irq and address settings of com1 and com2. I only really need two more serial ports, however if smart cards come with a min. of 4 (which is all I can seem to find) I can always live with more. -Thanks again -Dave
