The F77 compiler is the original fortran compiler distributed by DEC for ULTRIX developed by MIPS. It had a few changes made to for ULTRIX and VAX compatibility. The new fort compiler is the latest offering from DEC and is the compiler which is used to generate the new higher spec mark rating. Walter
