I'd like to do some DCOUNTs et al from a second worksheet to keep things neat. So in other words i want to put a series of DCOUNTs in a *dependant* worksheet that will be linked to another worksheet that actually holds the database and the criteria ranges. So far i haven't been able to make it work. The database and criteria ranges are set up in the underlying worksheet. i have verified that their names are associated with the correct sheet ranges. In the dependant worksheet i tried formulas that looked like: dcount(other.xls!database,otherxls!"fldname",other.xls!p1_) dcount(other.xls!database,"other.xls!fldname",otherxls!p1_) in the first case i got back "#name!" and in the second "#value!". if anyone can shed some light on my errors, please respond via e-mail and i will summarize to the net. thank you. -- Frank Burleigh burleigh@cica.cica.indiana.edu USENET: ...rutgers!iuvax!cica!burleigh BITNET: BURLEIGH@IUBACS.BITNET Department of Sociology, Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana 47405
