The group is planning to do some real time data analysis and display on Sun Sparc 1+ workstations. The environment consists of Sun Phigs running on top of Sun's Xview which of course runs on the X Windows protocol. I thought they would be crazy to do real time stuff on a Phigs - Xview - X stack on a 1+ but I would like to fine something to bolster my gut feeling. I think that if they expect any sort of real time performance, they might as well do Pixrect (grapthic driver) calls and bypass all of the Phigs - Xview - X junk to display the real time data. Have any of you attempted real time stuff on Phigs and Xview? Do any of you know where I could send these guys to get some data? Thanks!! Mark Allyn 206-865-4699
