   A buddy of mine is interested in getting a handgun. He's basically a
newcomer to shooting and this would be his first handgun. He has a chance
to purchase a like-new S&W M627 with 5 1/2" BBL (?), adjustable sights
and rubber grips. The price is $380. I know Colt guns but I'm pretty
unfamiliar with the going rate of various Smith's. If anyone can comment
on the original cost and resale value of this particular model I would
appreciate it. I looked in my Blue Book of gun values and this model
is not listed. Thanks.
