Lines: 11 Approved: hunting@osnome.che.wisc.edu Originator: hunting@osnome.che.wisc.edu a turkey hunter from minneapolis was shot while hunting in missouri this past spring. the shooter was a friend of a friend hunting with the minnesotan. this hunter fired at a target he could not see and very seriously injured the victim. a cardinal rule is never shoot at a target you cannot identify and i am still amazed that this guy took the shot. i passed up a turkey this spring because although it was only about 20 yards away the sun was glaring and i could not be sure it wasn't a hen. it is totally irresponsible to fire at sound or movement when the hunter has no idea of what he/she is shooting at. at least for a great many of us, hunting is not about killing. addendum: did anyone have any luck during the spring gobbler season? (getting birds i mean :-] ).
