It had three beards which were 9 1/2, 7, and 4 1/2 inches long. I also bagged a nice bird as well, he weighed 18 lbs and had a 9 1/2 inch beard. My dad heard this turkey while out looking for morels (an edible mushroom) on Sunday afternoon. He called me that evening and asked me to come by Monday morning early before I went to work. It was only about a ten minute walk from my dad's house, so I said I would. That ol' tom gobbled very well despite the wind and rain. About twenty minutes after he flew off the roost, I saw his snow white head bobbing along and he was gobbling for everything he was worth. Not bad for thirty minutes worth of hunting before work :-).
