Germans did not cancel the program and the final product is the Leopard II. This means that the Leopard II is basicially what would have happened to the MBT-70 had the German got their way on all the design decisions. The remarks about the M-1 being in far the best way to go are definately right (excpet for the original gun being the 105mm). Tom Harris
