This is not completely accurate:

a) The RAF's Sentry is designated E-3D and has many enhancements over previous 
   E-3s (in RAF service it is designated Sentry AEW.1).

b) The E-3D is replacing the Shackleton AEW.2 in service. The Nimrod AEW.3
   never made it!
