Keywords: workstation benchmarks, specmarks Message-ID: <1991Jun19.001646.12847@athena.mit.edu> Date: 19 Jun 91 00:16:46 GMT Sender: news@athena.mit.edu (News system) Organization: Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lines: 19 Could some kind soul please email (or post) a recent table of specmarks for workstations? I recall a pretty good table being posted when the newest HP workstations were announced. Unfortunately I didn't save it. Our lab simulates and eventually constructs dynamically balancing legged robots. We simulate robots as linkages of multiple rigid bodies with torques and forces and end up with a lot of dot products and miscellaneous floating point adds and multiplies. We are looking for a workstation to simulate more complex robots faster. This kind of problem can benefit as much from a smart optimizing compiler as from a fast CPU, so it would be helpful to know how different compilers do on the same workstation (I know this is a lot to ask.) Thanks. -- elwin@athena.mit.edu
