I'm not so sure it doesn't belong here, many of these folks are the people who supply programs to c.b.i.p., it seems to me that a discussion which will enhance the quality of the software submitted to that group is appropriate. In the long run I, as a consumer of some of this software, will benefit. I am not a programmer, but I have enjoyed following this discussion (I could alway add it to my kill file). It isn't often, that you get a get a group of people discussing an issue that they can actually have a major impact on, discussing it (for the most part :-)) rationally and with civility.
