Any help would be most >appreciated :) UMC (Universal Microelectronics) is a Korean (I believe) company which specializes in low-cost ICs, including custom ICs designed to hold the equivalent of an entire I/O card. Other companies do the same. Unfortunately, this pretty much prevents one from using a 16550.
