Keywords: MNP error correction Message-ID: <1991Jun20.103103.449@images.cs.und.ac.za> Date: 20 Jun 91 10:31:03 GMT Organization: Univ. Natal, Durban, S. Africa Lines: 24 Hi, One always hears about MNP error correction protocols, but can anyone tell me exactly what they are and how they are implemented? Questions include : Can any of the Levels be simulated in software ( Programming the 8250 UART etc)? Are there any hardware devices that sit between the modem and the PC that implement MNP ? Along the same vein, does anyone know of any good modem chip ( chip sets), I only know of the Intel 89024 chip set but apparently it is not that reliable, I shall have to see once I have assembled my board. Any algorithms will be appreciated. Please send responses back to me rather than posting replies. Thanks, Kevin. --------- - Internet: kevmeyer@images.cs.und.ac.za -
