Path: utzoo!utgpu!news-server.csri.toronto.edu!cs.utexas.edu!uunet!mcsun!hp4nl!star.cs.vu.nl!dick From: dick@cs.vu.nl (Dick Grune) Newsgroups: comp.fonts Subject: Hebrew font for HP Deskjet & Laserjet available Message-ID: <10274@star.cs.vu.nl> Date: 20 Jun 91 20:21:15 GMT Sender: news@cs.vu.nl Lines: 30 I have just uploaded the files heb12rpn.arc and heb12rpn.me to the ftp site star.cs.vu.nl, directory pub/dick/deskjet+laserjet_fonts. The arc file contains the Deskjet font, the Laserjet font, a documentation file, a demo and quick reference sheet, the Deskjet character width table, the Laserjet character width table, and source bitmaps of the characters. The font has all Hebrew characters with and without dagesh and all vowel signs (nqudot), plus some interpunction, Hebrew style. The character mapping is not the Israeli standard, but an approximation to Latin. It is a 12 pts proportional font of traditional design. I have uploaded it to our own ftp site star.cs.vu.nl rather than to mims-iris.waterloo.edu since the latter site has stopped archiving Deskjet and Laserjet fonts. I thank them for the service they have rendered us for several years. This message does not means that I or star.cs.vu.nl intends to take over the torch, only that I have a number of fonts which I want to share with the world. Until a new repository for DJ and LJ fonts announces itself, I'm going to put mine here.
