I need some plotting software to call from C programs that
will do simple stuff like put axes and tick marks, and maybe
even numerical characters, into a pixel image array.

I've read the FAQ for this newsgroup and zeroed in on the Khoros
package, because the notes about it refer explicitly to plotting
in 2D or 3D. Do I have to bring over the whole system to get
this capability or is there an independently compilable
subroutine library? I couldn't glean this information from the
README file at the ftp site, and, not being much of an
ftp grubber, didn't know where else to look.
