I have been browsing through some back issues on the Computer Journal recently
and have come accross a number of people using FORTH for embedded systems work.
Recently, I have been working on a MIDI interfaced project and have been using
an 8031 chip.  I would be interested in seeing what advantages FORTH might 
bring to this work.  If anyone has any good references or information I would
appreciate it.
