Brian,

I used my own version of QTF for quite some time.  I even created stretchable
blocks for it.  I finally gave up on it for general word processing because I
didn't want to deal with the major rewrite to fully support laser printers. 
If we were using a lot of forms I can see how it would be quite appropriate. 
I use a similar approach quite frequently for printing labels, etc.
