DPMI == DOS Protected Mode Interface The 0.9 version was released about 1 year ago and should be obtainable immediately from your local Intel (the folks who designed the 80x86 chips) representative. The 1.0 version was just completed and it might take your Intel rep a little longer to get a copy of that. I don't think the differences are major and I've heard rumours that 1.0 is a proper superset of 0.9 (take that with the usual amount of salt). Windows/386 v3.0 protected mode uses DPMI 0.9, but v3.1 will likely use DPMI 1.0 instead. The DPMI specs aren't large documents, but they are copyrighted so it is illegal for anyone to email anyone else a copy of it or put it out for ftp. If anyone from Intel is listening, please consider making the 1.0 spec available from somewhere via anonymous ftp (Simtel20 would be a good choice).
