I am wanting to get a MIDI interface for my A1000, and was wondering about a few things. A few years back (1986) there was a public domain circuit for an A1000 MIDI interface. It uses two IC's (I cant remember which ones, but one was 14 pin and one was 8 pin), one diode, about eight resistors, and the plugs and sockets needed. It would cost me about A$25 to build, compared with A$100 minimum to buy something similar. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody has build this circuit, and if so have they had any troubles with it? Will DMCS be sufficient to take MIDI input and give MIDI output? I have heard of AMAS. What does it do exactly, and would I need extra hardware to use it if I bought it? Thanks Richard Richard Lovejoy
