Are you now advocating the use of undocumented features by patching the OS in such a way that stupid programs still work under a new OS? Of course not. What imbeciles do with a useful tool is irrelevant. The above example of yours demontrated to what ridiculous lengths developers must go in order to make their program do what they want. They had no access to the source code. Perhaps if they had, they would have been able to figure out an OS friendly way to accomplish their objective. Do you realize that you may be violating Commodore's policy? Divulgating bugs to developers would not, but is it not Commodore's policy not to disclose the existence of bugs? I ask because frankly, I don't know. Of course, such a policy might be illegal, but that is another story.
