That means that basically you can run it 24 hours a day for four years without any problem. Also, the stress of startup is very strenuous for a hard drive. Too many on-off cycles can render it incapable of starting up, especially for brands prone to sticktion, such as SeaCrate. > My feeling is that there are lots of things that can happen when > you're away, and you're equipment is on. True... whenever I'm going away I turn my equipment off. Whenever there's a lightning storm in the area I turn the equipment off. No big deal. Otherwise, I just turn off the monitor.
