As a short summary, the net.consensus seems to be that Apple's very own
common LISP (v2.0 now in beta stage) is very good.  It runs under MPW, for
those of you who would be interested.  A couple of people saw what will be
the next/newest/latest release at the WWDC, and were suitably impressed.
