Okay, a while back we saw how you could see some "fun" stuff by option-clicking on the 7.0 in the 7.0 Monitor CDEV. Cute. Then I option- clicked on the "Options..." button and got to see an extended dialog. There's a button there for a using special gamma -- the main option being "Uncorrected Gamma." If I'm not mistaken, the gamma channel has to do with brightness. When I selected this, the monitor's output became darker. Hmm... Now then, I've noticed that the GIF pictures I produce on the Sun appear darker on a Sun than they do on the Mac. With this little option, I'm now wondering if the Mac II video card has a brightened gamma channel. I'm sans documentation, so perhaps you might know? Just wondering... I'd like my system to be close to "normal" as possible. ______________________________________________________________________ \ Eric Richards, Auburn University "In the darkness of future past \ \ InterNet: The magician longs to see \ \\\ richards@eng.auburn.edu One chants out between two worlds, \ \\\ BitNet: 'Fire... walk with me.'" \ \\\ erichard@ducvax.auburn.edu -- Twin Peaks \ \\\_____________________________________________________________________\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
