Mac cables work but are not wired correctly and can cause strange results. 2. Mac cables have the CTS modem signal connected to the DCD NeXT pin. This can cause all kinds of neat behavior, especially if your modem thinks it's doing hardware flow control. 3. The correct cables are available from NeXTConnection for a mere $15 (and they're black!) Hope this helps! -brian
