The manuscript preparation guidelines of Science differ from those of other journals in the following ways: * Numbering of footnotes is interleaved with numbering of references. (In article.sty, footnotes and references are numbered separately.) * References that first appear in tables and figure legends are numbered after those that appear first in the text.
